Trim only cuts the beginning and end of your audio. "Remove Silence" automatically finds and shortens long silent gaps (2 seconds or more) anywhere in the middle of the recording — like pauses between takes or topic transitions. Use both together for a fully cleaned-up file.

500ms of audio is preserved on either side of every cut, keeping the natural rhythm of speech intact. Pauses shorter than 2 seconds are left completely untouched. A short fade is also applied at each cut point to prevent any clicking or popping sounds.
